Crimes of violence

Crimes of violence can include assault, assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, uttering threats and robbery. They can have significant consequences if you are found guilty, including the possibility of jail, probation, weapons prohibitions and DNA databank orders.

There can be distinct defences for some of these offences, including self-defence and consent, or the Crown may simply not be able to prove all elements of the offence needed for a guilty verdict.
